Our car, which was built over the last year and first saw the track at Road America this April, is a custom steel tube chassis, with a fiberglass replica body of a 1967 Shelby GT350. Aluminum panels are used exclusively in forming the engine compartment, floor pan and the interior. The engine is a Ford SVO 351 Windsor NASCAR block, 2.75" main bearings, wet sump, stroked to 392ci, with approx. 700hp and matching torque. Components include Holley, MSD, Barry Grant, Eagle and a Competition Cams custom roller cam and rockers, etc. The engine was built by Hypercision Engines of Palos, IL. It has a Super Performance Center SLA (short arm/long arm) coil-over front suspension and custom coil-over IRS rear suspension using a Ford 8.8 aluminum center section. The suspension and chassis are a Corey Shaw design. The brakes are Wilwood at each corner. Transmission is a road racing Ford 4-spd top-loader with Hurst linkage. Full AutoMeter instrumentation with warning lights installed in a custom aluminum, powder coated dash and console. The body sections came from three sources for the following components: front clip, rear deck, rear valance, body and doors; the fender flares were custom formed on the body. The windshield is glass, the rear window lexan. The GT has a three nozzle fire suppression system, with impact and roll-over fuel shut-off, 22 gallon fuel cell. Front intakes for front brakes, upper body intakes provide air for the differential cooler and the helmet cooler. Lower body intakes for rear brakes. Wheels are Litespeed 16" with 16x10 and 16x13 Goodyear racing slicks. The car weighs 2,700 lbs. dry and has 51/49 front to rear weight bias with driver and fluids. The owners are Cork Farkas and John Gyann. Our master mechanic is Bret Monson. The attached digital pictures are compliments of Jeff Lacina. Cork Farkas <corkf@concentric.net>
